Hulk Hogan and Mean Gene Okerlund led the x22face,x22 or good guys, team (which included Andre the Giant, Hillbilly Jim, Jimmy Snuka, Junkyard Dog, Tito Santana, Wendi Richter and Captain Lou Albano) while Rowdy Roddy Piper and his team of x22heels,x22 or bad guys (including the Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Big John Studd, Mr. Fuji, Bobby Heenan and the Fabulous Moolah), usually caused trouble. Intersperced between the cartoon segments were live-action comedy vignettes featuring the WWF cast. x22Rock x27Nx27 Wrestlingx22 was among the WWF programs which helped the Vince McMahon-run promotion establish professional wrestling as x22sports entertainment.x22.
