Adam-12: Sgt. MacDonald begins to doubt that Reed will make it out of his probationary period after he loses his cool dealing with a suspect who he just apprehended for molesting a 5-year-old boy who later dies. Out on patrol, Reed's fortitude is tested again when he and his partner believe they have found the body of a murdered child under a porch, then apprehend a man who is using his 10-year-old foster son as an accomplice to commit burglaries, and finally, run down robbery suspects who then hurl insults and try to incite a race riot.
